American Techniques of War and Iraqi Civilians

When in Iraq, the American military couldn’t till who was and who wasn’t the enemy, which lead to confusion as to who to shoot at. While there weren’t many techniques used, one soldier was told “if it looks like the enemy shoot it.” This let him to be dumbfounded because he wanted to know what the Rules of Engagement were shall he come upon a situation when lethal force is necessary. U.S. military personal just started arresting people on suspicious of who they though the enemy might people, without any proof or probable cause. The citizens of Iraq were clearly degraded, often times being arrested for no reason, or home invasions scaring the men, women, and especially the children. While conducting home invasions, money or other prized possessions would be stolen. More often than not these citizens didn’t need to be terrorized, or put through any physical pain, and ultimately most were innocent.
